-update- Let me just start out by saying how fucking horrendous this is. Maybe it wouldn't be so bad if the lineart wasn't so crooked, but I was forced to use 1% brush thickness so I wouldn't end up covering anything up by accident. And now I know that 1% brush thickness only does more damage...
No, see, this actually looked good at first. This was my first time re-tracing one of my sketches on paper in dA Muro. I had to because I thought shading it with colored pencil would take too long. Too bad this took even longer... to sum everything up though, the original sketch is much better because the lines don't look like fucking Twizzlers.

So yeah... shading? Fine. Anatomy? Whatever. Imitation of the original movie style? Not bad. Contrast of the red hearts on the black and white overall picture? Lovely! Lineart? ...absolute shit.

Anyway I was originally gonna do King Candy, but I couldn't really think of a good situation for the drawing. So here's some Nassor... after being repeatedly stabbed with a cookie cutter. I just hate this lineart so much ugh...

Anyway the reason I took a moment to write the description is because I was in such a hurry to send this in. It's also the reason I decided to shade it digitally instead of traditionally, but you can clearly see how that went... maybe I rushed a little? But the contest is supposed to end only a little while after I submit my entry... if I'm lucky/fast enough. So I didn't really have a choice...

Okay, now for the real description! Aside from not being able to do King Candy, the reason I picked Nassor is because, well... look at any other elementary school boy. Soda fights, bathroom humor, pants worn around ankles, SANDALS WITH SOCKS... you get the idea. Nassor is just so much more sophisticated than that.
Another reason is because he's not the typical "Prince Eric" sort of Disney boy, and that's a huge part of his charm I think. I've always been attracted to the more odd-looking characters, not sure why.
Mostly though it's because he's not a complete and utter douchebag like most boys his age. He may be intimidating, but at least he's not rude while doing so.
